David, A 'Man after God's own heart'

David:
A Man after God's own heart

Acts 13:22
"And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave their testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfill all my will."

**God saw David's heart, and had seen a heart that is in the will of the Lord. He chose David over all his brothers, who were older and much bigger than David. Whereas when Samuel the prophet of God was there to choose a king to be anointed by God, he had looked upon the outer appearance of the brothers and thought they were fit to be king. But God had other plans in mind. He didn't look on the outer appearance, but upon the heart. Which he told Samuel to not look on the outside but what he looked for was in the heart. **

Here are  reasons David was a "man after God's own heart"

1. Humble--
Psalms 62:9
"Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity."

2. Reverant--
Psalms 18:3
"I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies."

3. Respectful--
Psalms 31:9
"Have mercy upon me, O Lord, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly."

4.Trusting--
Psalms 27:1
"The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"

5.Loving--
Psalms 18:1
"I will love thee, O Lord, my strength."

6.  Recognition--
Psalms 9:1
"I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvelous works."

7. Faithful--
Psalms 23:6
"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever."
8. Obedient--
Psalms 119:34
"Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart."
9. Repentant--
Psalms 25:11
"For thy name's sake, O Lord, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great."
